Bangalore: Information technology (IT) services major Wipro Limited on June 11,
launched its operations in Saudi Arabia.
The $ 715 million Bangalore-headquartered, New York Stock Exchange Limited company
would address Saudi Arabia through its Asia Pacific and Middle East IT division,
Wipro Infotech.
Wipro also announced on June 11 that it has won a prestigious enterprise resource
planning implementation project based on SAP technology from Saudi Polyolefins
Company, a joint venture between the Saudi National Petrochemical Industrialisation
Company and Basell, the world's largest polyolefins company.
"The project will be implemented in two phases and will cover core business areas
including materials management, human resources, and customer relation management,
to name a few," a Wipro release said.
Meanwhile, Wipro has appointed Dar al Riyadh Consultants, a leading Consultant in
Saudi Arabia, as its marketing representative, which would carry Wipro's technology
and software services proposition to enterprise customers in the region, the release
said.
Wipro's offerings in Saudi Arabia would include technology services comprising
infrastructure management, services and technology integration services, business
solutions comprising custom application development, and enterprise applications,
among others, it stated.
