Bangalore: Escotel Mobile Communications Ltd, a leading cellular service provider, announced the launch of incoming and outgoing roaming facility for its pre-paid subscribers. Escotel is the main cellular provider in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Kerala according to an official press release.

The new facility will enable the customer to use his prepaid connection in Delhi and Haryana networks besides his home network in Uttar Pradesh (West). He will also be able to send and receive SMS while roaming. This will soon be extended to Mumbai and Kerala as well, the release added.

The subscriber just has to dial 347 before leaving UP (West) to activate the service and follow the same procedure for de-activating the roaming. This will be made available to all the V-Tel IN subscribers on their existing connections without requiring them to change their number. The customers who are not on the IN platform currently will also be migrated to IN platform soon after which they will be able to avail the service, the release said.

With recent steep drops in long distance tariffs and roaming airtime rates, prepaid subscribers are expected to go in for roaming in a big way, the press release said.
