New Delhi: The Centre on June 5 asked the state governments to revise the commission
paid to wholesale dealers of kerosene by Rs 35 per kilolitres.
The commission for wholesalers (holding Form XIII) would be Rs 204 per KL and for
other wholesalers (not holding Form XIII) it would be Rs 161 per KL, effective from
midnight of June 4 and 5, an official release said.
The wholesalers having Form XIII are those dealers who are required to have adequate
land space for underground tank and barrel filling capacities while dealers only
with barrel filling facilities fall under the category of "other
wholesalers".
As a result of this revision, the retail price of public distribution system (PDS)
kerosene would go up by four paise per litre.
The new rates are based on the recommendation of the committee of the marketing
directors of Oil companies and executive director, petroleum planning and analysis
cell.
However, the increase in the commission is of recommendatory nature and is subject
to approval by the states and Union territories.
