Bangalore: Eight to 10 Indian companies are likely to participate in "CeBIT Asia",
the continent's leading ICT (Information and Communication Technology) fair to be
held from September 2 to 5 at Shanghai in China.
"We are planning and hoping to take eight to ten Indian companies, especially those
focused in IT training and embedded software", S J Patil, Representative of Hannovar
Fairs in India, told reporters.
"It will be a good opportunity for training institutes to visit China and look at
potential franchises," he said.
CeBIT Asia is organised by Hannover Fairs China Ltd, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe
AG, which is responsible for organising the huge trade show CeBIT every year at the
Hannover Exhibition Grounds.
Project Leader of Deutsche Messe AG, Michael Hoppe, said more than 700 exhibitors
from more than 25 countries are expected to participate in the trade-show.
The focus of various displays would be on products and solutions in the fields of
information and telecommunication technology, network technology, office automation,
software, Internet, e-commerce and consumer electronics, it was stated.
"We expect this annual event to serve as an ideal launching pad for business in
neighbouring Asian countries," Hoppe said.
Managing Director of Hannover Fairs China, Jun Qian, said China is making special
efforts to promote Shanghai, its Southern metropolis, and upstage the likes of Hong
Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
