Monday, May 13 2002 15:21 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Armed with "Confirmative to European Standards" certification, city- based Instrument Research Associates Pvt Ltd, is set to make a foray into the European market with its product Digital Automatic Tyre Inflator.

The product has just won the government of India award for successful commercialisation of indigenous technology by a small scale industry.

The company's managing director, H S Nagaraj, told reporters that the certification by Canadian Standards Association has allowed the firm to enter the European market.

The company has targetted to double its turnover to Rs 12 crore during 2002-03, Nagaraj added.

It has sold 3,000 such inflators both in Indian and overseas markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The company has now appointed a distributor in Singapore and the Netherlands.

He said such inflators enable savings in fuel consumption, energy savings in electrical energy used to produce compressed air and resource saving by enhanced durability of tyres and tubes.

In the current financial year alone, the company has planned to produce 3000 such inflators, Nagaraj added.

The company has now come out with Electronic Tank Gauging System for underground fuel tanks, which would reduce the adulteration of petrol and diesel by 90 per cent, he said.

It would also come out with large-size displays with visibility up to 300 metres for petro produce prices. Highly advanced version of tyre inflators with Internet connectivity for diagnosis for export market are also on the anvil, Nagaraj said.
