New Delhi: Intel, makers of high performance processors, on April 2 introduced
Pentium 4 version at 2.4 giga hertz (2.4 billion cycles per second), according to an
official press release.
Intel, which is finding a great demand for Pentium 4 processors, is bringing out the
latest version with smaller circuits and 300 mm wafers, the release said.
"The leadership performance and higher density of the 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 processor
are the results of continuous improvements in design and process technology," senior
vice-president and general manager technology and manufacturing group Sunlin Chou
said.
The latest version is the result of our efforts of improvements in design and
process technology, he said, adding that the 0.13-micron processor was enhanced with
faster transistors and smaller feature sizes.
Theses processors would be manufactured in multiple factories, he added.
