Mumbai: The SENSEX once again opened moderately up but witnessed extremely narrow
movements in keeping with a mixed trend at early stages on the Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) on March 6 on alternate bouts of buying and selling.
The BSE Sensitive Index opened on a promising note at 3,647.09 over a close of
3,641.10 on March 5, and later fluctuated in a small range between 3,651.87 and
3,628.40 before being quoted at 3,645.84 at 10:30 hours (IST).
The activity was affected in view of a drastic slow down by foreign institutional
investors (FII), which have made heavy investments in the past three weeks.
Meanwhile, Wall Street also observed a mixed trend with the Dow Jones Industrial
Averages shedding just over 100 points and the NASDAQ Composite Index gaining nine
points on March 5.
