Ansett on verge of collapse for a second time
Sydney: The sale of failed Australian carrier Ansett to a local consortium collapsed on February 27, effectively sounding the death knell for what was once Australia's second-biggest airline.

State has jurisdiction to levy duty on beer: SC
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has ruled that state has jurisdiction to levy excise duty on beer only after it has been brewed and become fit for human consumption and not on the raw material used while laying down guidelines for levy of such duty.

SENSEX opens firm, stocks rally on sustained buying
Mumbai: The SENSEX opened moderately higher and firmed up further in keeping with a fresh stocks rally at early stages on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on February 27 on sustained buying from speculators as well as consistent net purchases by foreign institutional investors (FIIs).
