Bangalore: Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking, on February 25
announced the setting up of a Wide Area Network (WAN) in Gujarat for its e-
governance initiative.
As per the mandate, the WAN connects the state headquarters with all the 25 district
headquarters and 225 taluks across the state.
"This is one of the first and only IP end-to-end e-governance network of its kind in
India, which would carry voice, video and data on a single converged network based
on Cisco's AVVID architecture," a Cisco release said.
