Hyderabad: Indyarocks, a social networking site, has launched first of its kind SMS-based calendar service for its members.

Using this service, members can get automatic birthday reminders of their friends and family on Indyarocks. Members will also be able to add custom event reminders of their own. The SMS-based calendar is a free service.

Members can add both repetitive and non-repetitive event reminders. The repetitive events can be added as Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly events.

This service is provided in addition to the popular free SMS and entertainment features, which are already accessed by more than 2.8 million members of Indyarocks, a press release said here today.

Kalyan Manyam, co-founder and Dr Vishnu, Head-strategy of Indyarocks said, "Indyarocks gained tremendous popularity among Indians in the age group of 15-30 because of its innovative ways to communicate and share media. The free SMS calendar service can be a boon to people who tend to forget important events like birthdays, wedding anniversaries, meeting appointments."
