Wednesday, January 14, 2009 19:13 [IST]

Mumbai: Barclays Wealth today said it has appointed Ravinder Singh as a new director to take care of its market in North India.

"Ravinder's presence will provide us with considerable seniority in the North Indian market. His appointment represents a significant step in our planned expansion of the Barclays Wealth proposition across India," Barclays Wealth CEO Satya Bansal said in a statement.

Singh would be based out of New Delhi and report to Bansal. He joins Barclays from BNP Paribas where he was a senior private banker and held responsibility for expanding the marketshare of the bank's business in North India.
