Chandigarh: Eyeing to attract investment from the the cash-rich farmers of Punjab, the Immigration consultant World Wide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) today invited the state farmers to invest in agriculture sector of Ukraine which can yield returns.

"Farmers who have got whopping amount of compensation from state government for their lands can now look at Ukraine as next investment destination to invest their surplus money and earn good amount of income," WWICS Chairman and Managing Director B S Sandhu told reporters here.

"A farmer with a net worth of USD 3 lakh dollars will be able to set up a 200 acre farm and can start earning between US 3000 dollars and US 4000 dollars a month," he claimed.

Moreover, farmers can also opt for dairy and piggeries, a thriving industry here, he said.

With surplus land available here, farmers could get land at USD 7 per month on lease which is very cheap, he added.

In addition to it, an aspiring farmer would not have to write any IELTS exam, compulsory in other countries.

WWICS had conducted a study in Ukraine, which suggested that the country s land was highly fertile and fully irrigated while its black soil was good for growing wheat, sunflower, maize and mustard crop, he said.

It may be mentioned noted here that, the framers in Mohali this year received Rs 1.5 crore per acre as compensation from Punjab government for the International Airport Project, the highest so far.

Also, the state farmers were also paid highly by the government in other power related projects against their lands.

After conducting a through investigation in Ukraine, it has come to the notice that Ukraine s land is highly fertile and fully irrigated while its black soil is good for growing wheat, sunflower, maize and mustard crop, he said.
