Friday, October 24, 2008 16:34 [IST]
Mumbai: Dabur Pharma today said the company would rechristen itself as Fresenius Kabi Oncology Ltd, subject to approval of the shareholders and statutory authorities.

The board of directors of the company, at its meeting held today, approved the proposal of changing the name of the company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Dabur Pharma, said in a filing to the BSE.

Fresenius Kabi is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Fresenius Kabi AG, headquartered in Bad Homburg, Germany.

Accordingly, Dabur Oncology Plc (UK) would be renamed Fresenius Kabi Oncology Plc and Dabur Pharma (Thailand) Co Ltd would become Fresenius Kabi Oncology (Thailand) Co Ltd. Dabur Pharma US Inc would be called Fresenius Kabi Oncology Inc.

Earlier this year, Fresenius Kabi had acquired 73.27 per cent stake in Dabur Pharma from its promoters and certain other shareholders in April, after which Fresenius Kabi made an open offer for an additional 20 per cent stake in the firm.

After completion of the open offer, Fresenius Kabi holds 90.9 stake in Dabur and is looking to sell around one per cent stake as per the guidelines of Securities and Exchange Board of India.
