Vadodara: About 2,500 employees of the Reliance Industries working in the 14 facilities of the company here will go on one day strike Friday in support of their demand for more bonus, trade union leader, J D Majmudar, said.
They will go on strike before merger of the government of India owned Indian Petro Chemical Corporation (IPCL) with the Reliance Industries in April 2007, all these employees were employees of IPCL.
The three unions including IPCL employees association affiliated with Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, IPCL union affiliated with All India Trade Union Congress and Petro Chemical Karmachari Union affiliated with the Indian National Trade Union Congress have already given a notice to the management of the company abuot their member going in a strike on October 24.
These three unions have questioned the wisdom of the management of reliance industries on fixing different amount of bonus for the employees working at the plants of the company located at Gandhar in Bharuch district, Hajira in surat district and Nagothane in Maharashtra.
They pointed out that the employees working at Hazira unit get highest bouns amount of Rs 72,000 while employees of Gandhar and Nagothane units also get more bonus amount than them working in the plants on the outskirt of the city.
The three unions said their members numbering around 2500,were offered only Rs 33,000 as bonus which was not acceptable to them, they added.
