Recession won't affect aircraft delivery: Boeing
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 09:49 [IST]

New Delhi: Despite the recession in the aviation industry, because of high operational and fuel costs, delivery of nearly 164 aircraft to Indian airlines will not be affected, said senior vice president of Boeing, Dinesh Keskar

"It was unlikely that the delivery of new aircraft to India companies will be affected. Since 2004, Boeing has received 164 orders worth $25 billion from Indian air operators. All the air operators in India who have ordered our planes have assured us that they would take the delivery of the planes they have ordered," explained Keskar.

He said the next one-year will be very crucial for the airline industry in India. "But we predict India in next 20 years will take a lead in the aviation industry and be ahead of China and other developed countries also."
