Mumbai: M&C Saatchi has set up a specialist unit, M&C Saatchi Direct and Digital, for direct and digital communication services.

The UK-based global advertising agency has been busy putting together the leadership for this unit over the last few months. Till now two key appointments have been made, both from JWT’s relationship marketing agency RMG Connect.

Sumantra Sengupta, former V-P and general manager of RMG Connect, has joined as CEO, M&C Saatchi Direct and Digital. Rakhshin Patel, former CEO of RMG Connect, has joined as director of the company. Aiding her in the digital sphere is Sumanta Ganguly, a digital and direct marketing professional.

Sengupta said, “After we started operations in M&C Saatchi, it was a requirement that we would want to increase our offering. An area we want to concentrate on is one-to-one communication, wherein there is a lot of scope for today’s clients. We’ve already notched up accounts in verticals such as realty, banking, retail and Web 2.0 media.”

With new business wins, Kamal Oberoi, chairman and MD, M&C Saatchi says the unit has aggressive growth plans and is looking at expanding its team further.
