Mathoda takes charge as CBDT chairman

New Delhi: Rabender Singh Mathoda, a 1971 batch Indian Revenue Service officer, has taken over as chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) with effect from Thursday.

Before taking over his new assignment, Mathoda was member (IT) and member (A&J) in the CBDT. Mathoda, a graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, has also served in various capacities besides chief commissioner of income tax at various zones.
