Realty firms must open institutes: Minister

New Delhi: Keeping in view the lack of skilled manpower in the realty sector, private developers must open their own institutes to train people for the industry requirement, Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy said on Wednesday.

"Indian real estate sector has seen a massive growth in the past few years. However, the industry suffers from lack of skilled manpower," said Reddy. "One of the major reason for the delay in development project is lack of manpower, be it architect, planner, managers. One person is handling multiple projects at times, which leads to the delay in the completion of the project," he said.

"With so many projects coming up India, there is a growing demand of skilled manpower for the timely execution of the projects," he added. Seeing the industrial demand, the minister proposed that most of the developers must open their own institutes to train their people to tackle the industry requirement.
