As the Finnish mobile handset manufacturer gets ready to deliver the next big thing — services — the tagline will be right on the top of its agenda.
The New Nokia, says the company, while shifting focus from devices to services, is betting big on social networking.
Says D Shivakumar, vicepresident and managing director, Nokia India Private Ltd: “Connecting with like-minded people, business and social networking are fast gaining importance, and this is what we intend to leverage.”
For this, the company has restructured its business into two divisions — services and software and devices and markets, across the globe.
The challenge will be to provide value-proposition handsets and convergence devices, company officials told a two-day Nokia conference here.
“Considering that consumers are going to use more and more service and that we have the technology now to provide these services, our focus has changed,” says Shivakumar.
