ICRA assigns LAAA rating to NTPC

Mumbai: Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India has assigned LAAA rating to the Rs 10-billion Bonds issue of NTPC, India's largest power generating entity.

The rating which reflects NTPC's strong hold in India's power sector, was assigned to the Rs 244.49-billion sanctioned bank limit for fund based, long-term loan programme and to the Rs 45-billion Bond issue of NTPC.

ICRA also reaffirmed the issuer rating of LAAA assigned to the debt programmes of NTPC.
