Mumbai: The Radio and TV Advertising Practitioners Association of India (RAPA), has extended the deadline for submitting nominations for the 33rd All India RAPA Awards for Excellence 2007 to April 5.

RAPA honours outstanding creative work in the radio and television fields in all the Indian languages including Hindi and English and this time there are a total of 63 awards up for grabs.

"We have already got an enthusiastic response and have extended the deadline in order to accommodate more entries and entrants," RAPA awards committee Chairman Viresh Chaddha said.

The extension is due to the enthusiastic response and the public holidays of Eid-e-Milad, Good Friday and Holi scheduled towards the end of the month of March, RAPA said in a release.

The work eligible for nomination for the 33rd version of the RAPA awards has to be telecast or broadcast between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. The telecast criterion is not applicable to documentaries.

However, the work should be produced between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007 and the work has to be produced in India, the release said. "On the judging panel, we shall have several eminent luminaries from the media and entertainment field, many of who are linguists. We are hopeful of getting quality entries that will raise the creative standards," Chaddha added.
