SRM signs MoU with JUSE to develop TQM

Chennai: The Centre of Excellence in Total Quality Management (TQM), set up by leading educational institution SRM University, has signed an MoU with the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineering (JUSE) to develop educational and training programmes in TQM.

Though JUSE has signed agreements with various agencies, SRM University is the first Indian educational institution to sign an MoU with JUSE, the world's highest international body, dedicated to the cause of knowledge dissemination and the state-of-the-art techniques on TQM.

Speaking to reporters, after exchanging the MoU, SRM University Vice-chancellor P Sathyanarayanan said under the agreement both the institutions would conduct academic programmes on quality management to the students, teachers and working professionals at various levels.

SRM also conducts quality management education, training, workshops and seminars for industries aspiring to apply for the presitigious Deming award, an International quality award, for which JUSE would do the audit.

Under the agreement, SRM would also provide consultation and counselling to raise the local industries to the level of bagging the Deming award, Prof Sathyanarayanan added.
