Tuesday, February 12, 2008 09:09 [IST]

Mumbai: Global technolgy firm NCR Corporation said it has upgraded 1,200 ATMs of HDFC Bank with its jitter-enabled card-readers that will help prevnt fraud in ATM counters.

This will help to prevent the fraud attempts, wherein criminals attach a device to the ATM card reader to capture improtant card data stored on the magnetic strip, NCR said in a release here.

The jitter-enabled card readers help to prevent this fraud by disrupting these attempts to copy the data with a random stop-start movement during card entry and exit, the company said.

NCR provide services to organizations in more than 100 countries and is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio.
