New Delhi: India and Oman today revised their bilateral air services agreements, allowing addition of 11,550 seats per week in each direction.

The two countries agreed to designate multiple airlines and decided to give immediate effect to the seat enhancement. Also, Bangalore and Calicut have been included as an additional point of call.

Oman's request to grant Mangalore as an additional point of call in India would be considered after Mangalore is declared as an international airport, an official statement said.

Both sides have also decided to free up all the limitations on the cargo services and there would be no restriction in terms of frequency and point of call for operating cargo services.

Under the revised agreement, designated Indian carriers can now use any points in Asia including points in UAE, Qatar and Bahrain as intermediate points and any points in Europe, North America and Asia including points in UAE, Qatar and Bahrain as beyond points.

The Civil Aviation Ministry said that with successful completion of the agreement, airline of both sides would be able to add new services.
