Shimla: All India Consumer Price Index number for industrial workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for December remained stationary at 134.
During the month, the index recorded a decrease of six points in Giridih centre, five points in Kodarma centre and four points each in Tripura and Labac-Silchar centres. It fell three points in three centres, two points in nine centres and one point in 26 centres.
In Quilon, the index rose 5 points, while in Mundakayam centre it increased three points. It fell by 2 points in Mysore and Frnakulam, and one point in 12 centres, while in the remaining 20 centres the number remained stationary. The decrease of six points in Giridih centre is mainly on account of fall in the prices of rice, wheat flour, mustard oil, onion and vegetables, while the key reason for a five per cent fall in Kodarma centre is decline in the prices of rice, onion and vegetables.
