Mumbai: National Aluminium Company Ltd today posted a 42.46 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 329.44 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, from Rs 572.6 crore in the year-ago period.

Nalco's total income dropped 19.34 per cent to Rs 1,247.26 crore in the latest quarter, from Rs 1,546.4 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2006, the company said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange. The company's board of directors has also approved a 40 per cent interim dividend on the paid-up equity share capital of Rs 644.31 crore for the financial year 2007-08, it said.

Nalco has fixed February 14 as the Record Date for payment of the interim dividend.
