New Delhi: Compact discs maker Moser Baer India today said appreciating rupee has eaten into the firm's topline by 12 per cent.

"Rupee impact is bad. It has wiped out 12 per cent of my topline," Moser Baer India Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Puri told reporters on the sidelines of India Economic Summit.

He said the company is making all possible efforts to curb the rupee impact.

The CMD said the company would enter every vertical of photo-voltaic (PV) business. "We will be investing in very vertical of photo-voltaic that exist. We have already invested in conventional photo-voltaic, low concentration, high concentration, thin film in nano technology and will soon be getting into solar thermal," he added.

Regarding reports of the company's planned investment in photo-voltaic business Puri said, "we will invest a large sum of money into that which will make photo-voltaic energy affordable." He, however, refused to disclose the figures.

The CMD also said the company has made investment in overseas companies for research and development for solar thermal photo-voltaic which would be manufactured in India.
