Bajaj lodges FIR against TVS dealer
Wednesday, October 31, 2007 08:38 [IST]

Pune: A Bajaj auto dealer from Orissa's Puri district has lodged an FIR against a TVS dealer based there for damaging reputation of the company and its products following distribution of propaganda leaflets by an employee of the dealer.

One of the employee of Krishna TVS was caught distributing propaganda leaflets stating that Bajaj Auto is phasing out the Bajaj Platina 100cc motorcycles, a release issued by Bajaj Auto said here. Santosh Kumar Rath was found distributing the leaflets, the release said.

In separate cases in different states, Bajaj Auto dealers have nabbed persons distributing leaflets giving completely misleading and wrong information about the company's products to the customers, it said, adding one Sunil Kumar Sahu was also arrested from Raipur in a similar case.

This appears to be a planned national conspiracy to mislead and incite the customers about the company's products.

Earlier this week, a similar attempt was made by a competitor by spreading incorrect news that the Bajaj XCD 125 vehicles are being recalled, the company said in the release.

"We will not tolerate such unethical behaviour on part of the competitor and we are planning to take police action at every location to stop the misdeed," Vimal Sumbly, national sales manager, Bajaj Auto said.
